At ESF Pre-Kindergarten our approach to learning is through play based theory. Across five key areas of enquiry; Wellbeing, Belonging, Communication, Contribution, and Exploration each toddler’s voice will be heard, their progress celebrated and their language and knowledge nourished. Our curriculum centres on the premise that everything that occurs with or for the child is curriculum. It is inquiry based and concept driven. It is designed to be stimulating yet flexible to provide for the children’s desire to explore and investigate.

Admissions Criteria
Children who are two years old may start in a Pre Kindergarten class. Children not reaching two years old by the start of school may waitlist until they reach two. The place will be offered based on availability.

Submit an Online Application
The Pre-Kindergarten programme applications are made from 2 to 31 January in the year your child turns two. Central Application for Pre-Kindergarten may be made through the Online Admissions System (OAS).
Applications received during the month of January will have a computer-generated random number. Applications will be ranked by priority category and assigned a random number for a Pre-Kindergarten place. There is no screening process involved.
AM/PM allocation will be assigned firstly according to priority and random number order until all AM places are filled. There is no guarantee of an AM place.

Moving on to ESF K1
Although there is no guaranteed admittance into an ESF kindergarten, students who successfully complete the Pre-Kindergarten programme will receive a priority interview for entry into ESF K1. Withdrawal from the ESF Pre Kindergarten is considered as withdrawal from the ESF Kindergarten.
Admission for K1 central applications is made in the month of September for entry to kindergarten the following academic year. All Pre-Kindergarten priority children will need to attend a ‘play-visit’ to secure a K1 place.
Children joining the  Pre-Kindergarten class after the K1 September central application period will also gain priority for processing.
