Overview
ScratchJr is a visual programming language and software platform designed specifically for young children between the ages of 4 to 5. It allows children to create interactive stories, animations, and games by snapping together graphical programming blocks, rather than typing out text-based code. ScratchJr is based on the popular Scratch programming language, but with a simplified interface and a focus on early childhood learning goals. ScratchJr provides a fun and engaging way for young children to start learning about coding and technology and encourages them to develop important skills that will be useful in many areas of their lives.
*Students are required to bring their own iPads or tablets and chargers to class with the ScratchJr app pre-installed. Detailed installation instructions will be provided before class commencement.
