Dear Parents & Guardians,

Thank you for joining our ESF Tigers Basketball Clinic, hosted by ESF Explore.

We strongly recommend that you refer to Active or your registration summary for the start date, end date and exception/exclusion dates of your specific venue. A copy of the calendar can be found here.

We look forward to welcoming your child to our fun and active basketball sessions!

General

• Your child will recognise our coaching staff as they will be wearing our burgundy or white coaching uniforms. All our lead coaches are Basketball England-qualified, First Aid-trained and have a passion for the sport! 
• At the start of each class, the coach will welcome the class briefly; take the attendance roll and highlight the main goals for the session.  
• Young children concentrate better on their learning experience when there are few distractions; therefore parents are advised to sit away from their child’s class.

Uniform

• No jewellery nor wristbands nor friendship bands are worn during the class as these items are forbidden under the rules of basketball!
• Your child needs to wear proper basketball trainers or sports training shoes and not outdoor shoes to avoid marking the court.

Equipment

Make sure that your child brings a basketball to each of the sessions. Basketballs are available to purchase during enrolment on our website if needed. An email can be sent to info@esfexplore.org.hk if you wish to purchase after enrolment. ESF Explore reserves the right to cancel any basketball orders that are made at short notice.

Make sure that your child also has a water bottle but we would not recommend eating a snack during the class as this raises potential Health & Safety issues, like choking.

What to expect…

• Our classes follow modern basketball coaching principles and will include an initial session on SAQ (Speed, Agility & Quickness) drills; our emphasis will be on learning through fun. 
• Basketball may sometimes seem very repetitive but children will learn that improvement and excellence comes from repetition, so we ask for your patience as every child develops at a different pace. 
• There is an opportunity to join the ESF Tigers Elite Academy for those who find a true passion in basketball. Details can be obtained from our coaching team (info@esfexplore.org.hk) by emailing your interest. 

Health and Safety

• There should be no food or drinks being consumed in the designated area, except water.
• Please ensure that a parent or guardian is in attendance when dropping or picking up your child at the lesson.
• In the interests of Child Safety, please do not take photographs without permission. ESF’s policy on photography can be located on the website.

Absence

• If your child cannot attend the lessons for any reason, please contact us in advance at info@esfexplore.org.hk or 2711 1280 so we can inform your child’s Coach.

Weather Policy

• In accordance with the guidelines of the EDB and Hong Kong Observatory, sessions will be cancelled in the event of adverse weather conditions. Please familiarise yourself with our weather policy which can be found here.
• In the event of an unsafe environment caused by inclement weather, sessions will be cancelled. A 50% non-refundable credit voucher, valid for one year from the date of issue, will be issued for the cancelled session.
